Years ago I was delivering some of our lavender lotion to a small retail store here in the Texas hill country. We were just starting our bath and body business. As I was walking out I heard someone ask, "Who is that?" The whispered response: "She's that lavender chick that makes the lotion."
The stories you will read here are written by me - the real me: A small-town girl from west Texas who left that small town and became a career woman in the big city doing twenty years of big city stuff. You hear about life coming full circle and I guess I am no exception. In 2003 my husband and I bought a farm in the Texas Hill Country because we felt it was time to slow down a bit and get back to our rural roots. It has been a journey of hits and misses and happiness and sadness. But - throughout it all, we still wake up and slap ourselves silly because we really are living our dream in the country with 5 dogs, 6 cats, horses and longhorns.
Shortly after moving to the farm and planting several acres of lavender I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As I said earlier, life is full of hits and misses. But - what evolved from that experience is where we are today. Those lavender flowers provided much more than we could have ever imagined and an accidental body care line was launched.
As they say, the rest is history and today I am an owner of a bath & body company with my husband. All those years ago as a small town girl with big dreams of living in the city, I could have never imagined my life on a farm in the hill country writing stories about country life and building a bath & body business. I hope you will continue to check in to see where else this adventure takes us.
